about

In April 2012 the game “Expeditions: Conquistador” by Logic Artists was released for Windows Phone. I wrote the music. You play the part of a Spaniard in the year 1518. Just arrived to the New World, you must choose how to deal with the Aztecs, your party's resources and the new land that unfolds under your feet.
The music is heavily influenced by Flamenco, and at the same time since there’s no written account of how the Pre-Columbian cultures’ music sounded; I drew heavily from the influence that has been carried along and lives within local folklore in the present day: time signatures, rhythms, musical instruments, scales and harmonies . Then, I used that as my sonic palette and wrote the music that made it to the game.

"Xaltocan" was written for the native villages you will encounter. It captures the natural life and happenings of a cultures that faded a long time ago..
